Brainio, the Italian greyhound’s, view of himself is that he is a dog of style, intelligence and wit - and good looking with it. In essence, a dog of distinction. Certainly, he believes he was born for better things and, decides that, as soon as he gets the opportunity, he will achieve this aspiration.
Unfortunately, for Brainio, others, especially humans, but also certain dogs and cats, do not view him as he sees himself. This causes him many problems. For example, he is abused (one owner tries to drown him), belittled and made the butt of jokes and sarcasm.
His fortunes are reversed when he meets a witch in the woods. And her cat.
This is the story of Brainio, told (mainly by himself) with candour and wit. It is a journey which invites readers to laugh, be appalled and, maybe, to empathise as this dog of distinction negotiates life and makes things happen.

the Brainio diaries, are of the same ilk Harry Potter novels, and this book is a worthy rival. The Brainio character, just wins the heart of the reader, and the book enlightens and uplifts the mood. It is hard to put it down, as the narrative moves quickly, and each chapter is full of insights, humour and information carrying the story along and leaving one eager for more. This is not just a 'fairy story' it leads the reader into background knowledge of the world, geography, Shakespeare, and relationship understandings without seeming to. This book entertains, and educates, but does it in such an amusing and yet sympathetic way that the reader is carried along, wondering what will happen next, while at the same time sharing the good times, the bad, and the relationships which seem so real in this fictional character. I could not put it down, and was left feeling that I had experienced a feast of literary satisfaction. I can recommend this book to all ages, it has so much to give.Product details
